All Common School financial aid is need-based, and tuition reductions are not made for academic achievement or multiple children. Our goal is to make awards in a fair and equitable manner, consistent with the priorities and goals of the school. Considerations include economic, racial, and cultural diversity, breadth of family background and experiences, support for school staff, and age and gender mix in classrooms.
Approximately 40% of families receive aid. Aid recipients are automatically awarded reductions to other school fees such as the Summerfun program, after school programs, in-school tutoring, and special program fees.
Financial aid applicants are required to complete an application through the School and FAST, our financial aid processing service. A copy of the prior year tax return will need to be submitted to the service as part of the application process. Families requesting aid can request application materials after January 1. Please pay close attention to the instructions so that paperwork will be in order for an aid decision at the time of admission to the School. If you would like more details about our financial aid policies or procedures, please feel free to call the school business office. Our staff are happy to answer any questions you may have and are available to help with details and forms as needed.
