B.S., Math and Physics
Started at The Common School:
Being a father, mathematics, music, finding myself lost in the woods.
What brought you to The Common School?
They say lightning starts at both ends, each end seeking the other and meeting in the middle. I think something like that happened.
Tell us about a favorite teaching moment at The Common School:
I cannot possibly identify a favorite moment amongst so many memorable gems. I can, however, classify my favorite genre of moments: when a child discovers their own innate capability to complete a task on their own, whether it’s putting on their own coat or it’s solving an algebraic expression. Witnessing the discovery of a greater aspect of self hitherto unknown or unrecognized is by far my favorite type of moment.
What do you like best about The Common School?
Again, a hard question to answer. I would say that I best enjoy the feeling of community. The buildings, the land, and the people all contribute to the sense of being in a home environment, and the mission of the school reflects this feeling as well.
