What brought you to The Common School?
With grounds perfect for exploration and play and a culture driven by curiosity and compassion, The Common School reminded me of a lot of the most beautiful and meaningful parts of my own childhood. One tour around campus and I knew it was the place for me.
Tell us about a favorite teaching moment at The Common School:
One day after Big Sing last spring, we found a freshly-emerged cecropia moth drying its wings near our garden. Our curiosity led us down a winding path of collaborative learning and creative expression that we still think back to regularly.
What do you like best about The Common School?
Even after classes, Common School kids love to work together to build big things (just this year, we’ve built a burger joint, several soccer stadiums, and a massive big-top circus!), and harnessing these opportunities to teach about collaboration, courtesy, and consent is a true joy.
