Giving

The excellent school you know today is made possible by the vision and generosity of those who came before us. Please do your part, make a gift today, and support The Common School tradition of giving back.

Ways to Give

Online

Click the donate button for your area of interest to give now via Give Lively, a secure online credit card donation website. Please note: credit cards fees reduce your net gift to the school by 3%.

Securities

A gift of securities can provide you additional tax benefits. If you make a donation of appreciated stock, held for more than one year, you pay no capital gains tax on the transaction and can take an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the transferred stock. To give a gift of securities, contact Yesim Caines, Business Manager, at (413) 256-8989.

Matching Gifts

If you participate in your company’s matching gift program, your gift to the school could be doubled or tripled. Ask for a matching gift form from your human resources office, complete it, and return it to the School with your gift.

Bequests and Planned Giving

If your estate plans include a gift to The Common School, please let us know. Your generous act automatically makes you a member of our Emily Johnson Society. Named for the distinguished educator who founded the School in 1967, the Society recognizes the extraordinary commitment planned giving donors have made to ensure that current and future students benefit from their legacy for years to come.

Including a charitable bequest to The Common School in your will or trust is easy. Your valuable contribution to The Common School can produce personal financial benefits, too. As a donor, you may secure a charitable estate tax deduction for the value of their gift.

For more information about naming The Common School in your will or trust, please contact the Advancement Office at 413-256-8989. All inquiries are strictly confidential.
